Engineering Intern

Job description

Organizations have reached a tipping point in data access where the effort involved in making data accessible is far exceeding the value that can be created with data. This is because access to large scale distributed data today is far too complex. As the adoption of advanced analytics, machine learning, and edge computing continues to accelerate, data readiness and availability will be the primordial ingredient required for implementations to be successful at scale. Business leaders demand real-time decisions, instant insights, powerful real-time applications and the monetization of information, however the volume, complexity, and exponential growth of data limits decision making to only a fraction of available data that often takes 4-6 weeks and millions of dollars to access.

Molecula’s vision is to unlock human potential through the power of real-time data. Our core technology is an enterprise feature store that solves the massive data readiness problem and allows companies to focus on extracting value from their data. We are a fast-growing startup with a cohesive team determined to bring about a complete transformation in the way enterprises and application providers advance by providing access to data at the speed of thought.
We are seeking awesome minds like yours to help unlock the power trapped in some of the world’s largest data flows and silos. Be on the ground floor of a complete transformation in the way data and information are ingested, stored, and analyzed. Our internships are based in our downtown Austin, Texas office.

As an Intern you will collaborate closely with full-time senior engineers. You will be working on real projects, with real clients and building your resume in the best way possible: by contributing to open source software.  Interns are fully integrated into our development process and will get practical software engineering experience.  You will also learn about Open Source business models, managed services, commercializing a SaaS cloud offering and much more.  At the end of your internship you will have broadened your experience as an engineer and have a new perspective on what it is like to challenge some of the biggest companies in the world with a truly disruptive technology.

What You’ll Need (The Basics):

  • You are sharp, assertive and ready to do something really important.
  • You are in the process of receiving a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • You have a solid foundation in computer science theory, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • You are curious about distributed systems and building large scale platforms.
  • You are proficient in the languages and technologies relevant to your area of expertise (e.g. Javascript/CSS for frontend development). Experience with Go is a major bonus for backend development.
  • You are genuinely interested in Molecula, Pilosa, and are excited to use Pilosa in a project, if you haven't already.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
